Had a great time today. Went to the Modern Wing of the Art Institute of Chicago. Chilled at Millenium Park. Have been wanting to do this for a very long time, but have not found the right company. Feeling so blessed. =)

I went to Sisheido for a make over! I guess it's really good because they help you figure out the tone that best matches your skin color. Did I buy any? No. Haha... There were free gifts just for showing up too! =)

Needles Revisited

I have no idea what happened today. I have an appetite lke a horse! I just kept eating and eating and eating. Also, I took a nap! I have not taken a nap in months!

The band-aid stuck so strongly to my arm that I had to count to three then rip it off as fast as possible. Doing so, I ripped out a thin layer of my skin. Great job!

Spaghetti Phase

I don't know why I am going through this spaghetti phase now. And I actually enjoy creating new sauces each day to go with my pasta! =)

Today I Asianized the marinara sauce. Haha... Not telling the secret ingredient, but it is very yummy! My tummy can testify to that.


I have not been to the movies for about three months now. I used to go to the movies every weekend. Today, i stepped into the theaters once again. I watched Star Trek with d-loh, Hatim and his girlfriend, Laura. It was really good. I'm not a huge fan of Star Trek, never followed the series, but I would definitely recommend it to friends.

Bahai Temple

Ever since my freshman year, I have heard so much about the Bahai Temple, situated 3 miles north of my campus. Friends used to bike there; walking there would not be a great idea, though.


Finally after years and years of listening to friends' stories about Bahai Temple, I finally been there myself. Thanks to a curious friend who wanted to show me this building that is totally out of place. It was as if the aliens decided to build a building here in Evanston. The temple stood out like a sore thumb.


Problem was, I did not bring my camera and it was at night. The whole idea was totally unplanned and totally at the spur of the moment. In any case, I brought back a souvenir from the temple. Hey, they even have it in Bahasa Melayu!

Metra Weekend

Geraldine's family is in town to attend her brother's wedding. I went to pick them up from the bus stop today. Took the weekend Metra for the first time. =)

Another Box of Love

It looks like a traffic light. There was a red piece, but I ate it before taking a picture of all three together. =( So, just use your imagination... Imagine a red piece on top of the yellow piece. Anyways, I bought them from Amsterdam. They are called Baby Gouda. I can assure you, they are yummy!!! Planning to bring the green piece back home. We'll see if it lasts...

Bought them from a cheese factory that I went to. We get to test the cheese before buying them. =)

Cost of Transportation

Transportation mid term tomorrow. Have not been productive today. I am not even stressed up about the test. At least not yet. What is wrong with me??? Must be the last semester syndrome (LSL).

Oh well... I hope LSL would stay for awhile. =)

Some books that I should start reading...

Bought this in Brussels. If I could, probably next time when I am richer, I would get the entire collection of this. There were so many different titles there in the bookstore in Brussels, I wanted to buy all, but first of all, there was no space in my tiny little backpack. Secondly, it is a bit too expensive. So, I stood in the book store trying to choose the most interesting title. Gosh... I really wanted all! I read half of it while waiting for my train to Amsterdam. I remember the man sitting near me looking over and smiling. Must be the little girl look on my face while flipping through pages. Now I just to read the other half. I love it so much I would just read it again and again and again! Hehe...

I have all the time in the world in the weekends (which is when I should be updating pictures), but I just sleep away... I slept till 4pm on Sunday. I missed the weekends... =(

Cupcakes!

Yesterday I purposely followed d-loh to the post office, which was a very far walk for me. All this effort just to get cupcakes from a bakery near the post office. Bennison Bakery. Haha... The cupcakes were yummy. On average it costs 2USD each. D-loh said it was too expensive, but I think it was totally worth it.

Public Library

I went to the Public Library again today. This time I borrowed a book on how to use Mac. Haha.. So from now onwards, I will make sure I make full use of all the features my Mac has to offer. =)

I LOVE my Mac! But I need to buy a case for it. Maybe a weekend shopping for my Mac?


I have not been in the mood to blog nowadays. Always grumpy. This is bad! I spend most of my time watching TV. Sometimes I read. I should go to the gym more often too! I have been eating a lot. Sleeping waaaay too much!

So basically this is what I do everyday. Sleep, eat, go to class, watch TV.

Feels much better

Finally I decided to take AppleB out from the corner. Feels so much better. The keyboard is nicer, everything runs faster. I feel bad for Mini Baby. =(

Still I wanna fix lappy... Haih... Have not been doing much lately except eat eat eat and watch TV. Weather has not been good, rained for 2 days, didn't go to the gym at all. I need to go to the gym tomorrow. I keep telling myself that. Haha... I don't think I will be going to the gym anytime soon.

Agitated

My laptop still has not been fixed. I am easily agitated nowadays... Baby Mini just can't do the same job as lappy... I miss my lappy. Baby Mini is just too slow! I am only online 3 hours a day compared to 24 hours a day. Such a huge difference. Lappy please come back. I missed you. =(

Woke up to sis's call. House in Kuantan got broken into. Shocking news... Kinda worried about the safety back home now. Hopefully all is fine.

UPDATE: 9pm = seaweed soup + noodles + roti canai + cheese & crakers + cup of tea.

What happened to my appetite? I need to hit the gym tomorrow!

I went to the public library after class today. I was like a kid going to a candy store! The selection of fiction books there was great! Even better than those in the University Library. I sat there for 2 hours and I finished reading a book! I am really proud of myself. =)

Now I am torn between spending time at the gym and the library. =( I wanna do both!

Blackout

I had a blackout episode today, at the gym. Thank God Dennis was there. I knew what I was going through then and I was telling myself to fight it, to not blackout; but to no avail. It was scary. It was dark and I felt alone, emptiness... I had no idea how long my blackout episode lasted, but I am grateful d-loh was there.

Ellen Degeneres Show

Nope, I am not going for it. I so wanted to go, but the ticket was sold out the minute they were posted online. I tried everything I possibly could; I tried buying ticket online 3 days straight thinking there might still be tickets, today I called the ticket office and now I gave up.

Someone with a ticket for TBS Just For Laughs-Ellen Degeneres Chicago , June 16 2009 show please give it to me... I will love you so much, trust me I will.

Oh well... So I needed something to console me right?(Oh no... My Econ prof virus is catching up) There is only one way! Food! I am eating my Belgian chocolates while watching Ellen Degeneres on Youtube! There we go! Yippie...

Laptop died...

I'm so sad my Acer laptop died on me again... It is not the first time this has happened. The previous two times, I managed to revive it. Today, everything just didn't seem to work. I am bringing lappy to the witch doctor, d-loh, to help me fix it. I have other laptops to use, Mini and Apple B, but I'm feeling so sad... I was just simply too attached to lappy. =(

Hopefully all will be fine tomorrow.

Mouse in House!

I saw Mickey Mouse today... Not Mickey Round... That is my sleeping buddy.

I was at Geraldine's place, cooking, when suddenly her housemate screamed. There was a mice under the couch. Her mom moved the couch and the mice ran into Geraldine's room. When that happened, all three of us were screaming and standing on chairs... It was hilarious. Haha...

Anyways, Geraldine was leaving town today so she needed to pack stuff from her room. Being a good friend, I accompanied her to her room so that she could clear up and pack her luggage.

Mickey Mouse decided to escape and Geraldine saw it! She screamed and guess what? The mice jumped! Hahahaha... That was super funny! Of course the mice didn't get to escape, but Geraldine and I dashed out of the room, laughing.

We both went out after that and soon after, the mice decided to leave Geraldine's room. I think the mice didn't like it there after all. =)

Ma, you should be really proud of me... I no longer stand on chairs and scream when I see mice. I am now able to be in a room with mice. I think that is an accomplishment! Don't you?

The Curse

I was getting a signature from a prof today and later after signing my form, he asked me, "Are you from Malaysia?"

Wow... I am impressed. I asked him how did he know and he said that he recognized the accent. Haha... It is like a curse. Everywhere you go, people will know that you are from Malaysia by the way you speak. Well, I don't really think that it is a curse, I am happy to know that after four years here, I am still me afterall...

Bike Race at Gym!

I went to the gym today... Was happily running then suddenly one guy decided to run on the treadmill beside me. No problem with that... WRONG! He was stinky... The manly sweat smell which was not at all alluring. =(

So I decided to use other equipments... I tried cycling. The thing is, I never cycled in the gym. I think it is kinda dumb when all you do is just move your legs and watch people as they walk pass you. But today, I had no choice. I sat at the machine and looked up to the screen, wondering why would I need a screen on a bike machine. Guess what? There were races from which I could choose! The uncle beside me was cycling in some kinda desert. Haha...

I chose a race course which looks like a F1 course. Not Sepang Race Course, but something similar. =p And the race began... Guess who won! ME! YES YES YES! It was really entertaining... It was very real; even the bike handle could move and I needed that to steer my bike so that I would not go off course or hit some other bikers.

Would I do it again? NO! Haha... So the race ends and now what? Start the race again? On a different race course? Not a chance. One race is enough. It was really tiring... But hey... I did something fun at the gym today!

This is what I have been up to lately... I borrowed Friends Season 1 from the library! I only have 3 days to finish all the episodes in Season 1. Not possible. So, I am gonna renew it tomorrow! Yay! Really... I have too much free time...

Spring Rolls

Remember I watched the Fine Living Network late at night one day and the chef was teaching how to make nice spring rolls?

I had too much time yesterday and decided to make spring rolls. Gave some away to friends. My first time at spring rolls, made from scratch. Successful! Happy! =)

The weather is better today. Time for tulips! I followed a four hour tour to Keukenhof. It is the largest flower garden in the world! This is a spring garden and it only opens three months every year. So good timing again! It is quite early in spring, and not all the flowers are blooming.


The garden was absolutely amazing. It was very peaceful and serene. I could not ask for more. =)

There were so many beautiful flowers, for those who know me really well, they should know that tulip is my favorite flower. There were so many tulips there, I was in heaven! I took many pictures, but I am not posting all of them here, or else it would be endless... =p

Besides flowers, there are some weird looking trees as well. Hehe...



OK... Enough about flowers and trees. Time to show food! I had croquette. It was wonderful. After eating one croquette, I was not satisfied and got another croquette! Haha... It is made of mashed potatoes, some peas and shredded chicken. Rolled and fried into this magical, yummy croquette bar. =)


The Keukenhof trip ended and I joined another four hour trip, this time to the Windmill village, Zaanse Schans, then to the fishing village, Volendam and Marken.

At Volendam, I had the most amazing pancake! It was gooey in the inside, but I asure you that the pancake is thoroughly cooked! I had strawberry syrup and powder sugar on top of my pancake. =) Yummy... I really missed the pancake!

We also stopped by a cheese farm. We were showed how cheese was made and also we had a tasting session. =) More food! The cheese was good. I bought some home too! =)

Came back to Amsterdam city center and I saw the Scottish Invasion!

Holland will be playing Scotland in a football match on Saturday. That is why there were so many Scottish men in skirts around town. Very good eye candy for me. Can see men in skrits with their belly and mou mou leg. Haha... What a sight!
